Working with Me
Counseling for Caretakers
I love helping caretakers because I’ve been one myself. I understand you are likely experiencing stress and emotional strain. You tend to your loved one who may be sick, dying, or living with a disability. As a result, you feel that you have to shoulder the burden alone. You know that it’s too much to bear by yourself. Counseling can help you improve how you manage emotions and strengthen your communication.
What about you?
Focusing on others can make you less attentive to your needs. I’m sure you’ve heard people say, “You need to take care of yourself first.” That’s always easier said than done. Many obstacles get in the way. Including:
-
lack of time
-
financial stress
-
feeling overwhelmed
-
lacking support
-
guilt
-
physical strength/pain
-
lacking to resources
